The Shimizu family, led by two brothers and their father in Uji, quietly carries forward a ninth-generation legacy of matcha cultivation.
Across small, inherited plots, they grow tencha under hand-laid rice straw, harvest in limited quantities, and stone-mill each batch on-site. Their work reflects a rare devotion to purity, place, and the understated elegance of true craftsmanship.
